Taxi robbery in Leamington

A TAXI driver in Leamington was punched by a group of robbers who then stole his taxi at lunch time today (Tuesday).

The three men approached the driver, who was taking a break in his car, a green Ford Mondeo, in Edinburgh Crescent at around 12.50pm. They then punched him and two of the men made off in the car towards Kingsway, into Tachbrook Road and then turned into the M40.

The car’s registration is HD54 FOC.

Anyone who sees the car should not approach the men inside it, but call 999.

Witnesses to the robbery should call police on the non-emergency number, 101.
