Snow means no school for hundreds of children across Warwickshire

TODAY’s snow has prompted 67 schools across Warwickshire to close or partially close for the day.

With the forecast predicting several inches of snow lying by this afternoon (Friday), the schools have taken the precaution to avoid accidents and disruption to journeys.

To keep up to date with school closures, visit www.warwickshire.gov.uk/schoolclosures or follow the county council on Twitter @wccschoolclosed

There are also disruptions to bus services across the county. Updates can be found on Twitter @wccbusservices or by calling the county council on 412987.

Gritters have been out across Warwickshire since the early hours of today. The Met Office has issued a snow alert for the region and is advising people to be prepared for delays in their travel plans and avoid travel if possible.
