Rise in thefts and break-ins

POLICE are warning residents to make sure their outbuildings and garages are locked and secure after a spate of peculiar break-ins where often nothing was stolen.

There has been an increase in the number of reports of garages and outbuildings being burgled over the past month - as well as a number of incidents of buildings being entered but no items taken.

Warwickshire Police are urging all those affected by break-ins - even where nothing was stolen - to report it immediately to help crack down on offenders.

They are also urging owners of farm machinery to ensure large items are securely locked in outbuildings with numbers left in secluded or isolated areas being stolen also on the rise. Officers believe the machines are being
targeted for their batteries.
