Please don’t disturb my reading time

UNDISTRACTED by natural beauty, a giddy descent down a water slide or even being locked in a cage, determined readers at Emscote Infants School in Warwick have taken part in ‘extreme reading’ event.

All had parents happy to snap their efforts to find the most bizarre place to have their pictures taken - although six-year-old Alex would have really rather not broken his arm on the first day of the summer holidays.

He’s pictured reading while having it plastered at Warwick Hospital.

Then there’s Mikey Hammond, also aged six, who had to spend a lot of his summer at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London where his new baby sister Scarlett was receiving emergency treatment.
