Planning for future of children with disabilities

MENCAP, the leading charity for learning disability, is hosting a free event in Warwick aimed at long-term planning for the future of a loved one with complex needs.

Aarti Gupta, the charity’s wills and trusts solicitor said: “Parents often worry about how children will manage their financial affairs when they are no longer around.

“They may be concerned that inheritating a large amount of money may leave loved ones in a vulnerable position and they may also want to ensure that their child is able to benefit from their full inheritance.”

There are 1.5 million people in the UK with learning disabilities which range from difficulty with everyday activities like household tasks to taking much longer to absorb complex information, socialise, or manage money.

Mencap’s Planning for the Future seminar is due to take place at Hill Close Gardens in Bread and Meat Close on November 6. For details ring Gina Collins on 020 7696 6925.
