Overheated grill causes fire at Leamington home

AN overheated grill pan led to a fire at a flat in Leamington in the early hours of Saturday.

Firefighters rescued a person who had become trapped in the property at Ashlawn House at Forefield Place. The person was treated by ambulance staff at the scene and was reported to be in good health.

Crews had been called to the flat at around 5.10am, where they found the fire in the kitchen. It was later discovered that the fire had been caused by a grill pan overheating.
