No to Warwick Gates and Whitnash urban merger

WARWICK councillor Gerry Guest thinks it’s likely to be March or even May before the Boundary Commission comes back with fresh proposals about changes to the district borders.

This follows the public consultation which ended last week. But Cllr Guest (Con, Warwick South), still believes the town council cannot afford to lose the Warwick Gates area.

“Nor do I think the residents of Warwick Gates want to be merged into a new urban parish with neighbouring Whitnash,” says Cllr Guest.

He has pledged to continue to fight for the estate to stay within the borders of Warwick and also feels strongly that people living in the Myton area have no natural affinity with those living in Leamington South, which is another of the suggested mergers.
