More bike thefts in town

POLICE are urging motorbike owners to invest in high-quality locks that cannot be cut by bolt croppers after an Aprilia Pegaso bike was stolen from outside a house in Edmondes Close, Warwick.

Surveillance cameras show the machine was taken at 4.30am last Thursday when a padlock was cut by the thief who then wheeled the bike away.

PC Trent McMurray says there has been a spate of similar thefts in recent weeks with motorbikes stolen in many cases for their parts. Last week a tip-off led police to the Packmores estate after a bike was stolen from Lacell Cose. Despite reports the bike was recovered, police now admit it is still missing.
