Masked attackers hit man with unknown weapon

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following an assault on a 46-year old man in Leamington in the early hours of Wednesday.

The assault is believed to have taken place somewhere near an alleyway leading to Watersfield Gardens, from near to Broadhaven Close and St Anne’s Close at around 12.30am when two males, who had covered their faces, blocked the path of the victim.

He was struck on the head a number of times by an unknown weapon before he managed to run away and raise the alarm. Nothing was stolen in the attack.

The vicitm later later required treatment for his injuries at Warwick Hospital.

He was not detained.

Pc Sue Blundell and Pc Stuart Mucklow are seeking details of any suspicious incidents in the lead up to this incident or witnesses to the actual attack.
