AN explosive lesson was delivered to young visitors to the Market Hall Museum in Warwick when the power of volcanoes was demonstrated as part of a Super Science session.
Members of the county council’s heritage and culture team donned white lab coats and stood well back as they used bicarbonate of soda and vinegar to show children how to recreate a realistic model of a volcano.
Learning officer Jane Commane also talked about how rocks migrated through a cycle before erupting with molten lava thousands of years later. The 90-minute sessions were part of a series organised over the summer costing £2.50 per child.
