Heirlooms valued in aid of two good causes

BARGAIN Hunt expert Charles Hanson is coming to Warwick next week in the hopes of some fascinating finds emerging from the cardboard boxes and plastic carrier bags of visitors to St Mary’s Church in Old Square.

Charles will be at the church between 10am and 3pm next Saturday (Nov 3) to offer free valuations of any up to six items brought in.

Organisers will charge £2.50 for and hope long queues will build up allowing them to sell hundreds of cups of tea, slices of cake and the odd glass of wine in aid of repairs to the church’s 15th century Beauchamp Chapel and South Warwickshire Heart Rehabilitation Nurses.

But the hope from Charles is that he’ll uncover another family heirloom like the Chinese Qing Dynasty vase recently sold at auction for £192,000.
