Dishwasher causes fire in Whitnash

A DISHWASHER that caught fire at a home in Whitnash in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday) spread around the property and the home next door.

It took two fire crews around two hours to extinguish the fire at the house in Morse Road.

The fire service was alerted to the incident at around 12.30am and, on arrival, found that the ground floor was heavily smoke logged and the smoke had spread to the neighbouring property.

An ambulance crew and the police were also called to the address, where equipment including breathing apparatus and a thermal image camera were used to put out the fire.
