Car stolen in burglary

THIEVES walked into a house in Long Itchington yesterday (Sunday) and stole keys to a car which they then drove off in.

At about 8pm a woman occupant was upstairs getting children ready for bed when she heard a noise downstairs.

She called out but got no response but when she heard the front door close she went outside and saw two offenders getting into her car, a grey VW Golf.

The offenders were both white men.

The first was already sitting in the driver’s seat and could not be seen clearly but the second, who was trying to get into the passenger seat, is described as being in his 30s, 5ft 11ins tall, of slim build but with broad shoulders.

He was wearing a light blue jacket.

Police have made local enquiries but would still like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or is aware of any suspicious activity in the area last night.

They would also like to remind home owners of the importance of locking doors and closing windows when they are in a different part of their property - it does not take long for thieves to walk in and steal something.

Anyone with information about this incident can contact Warwickshire Police on 101 or 415000 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
