Bouncers help police make drug arrest

DOOR staff at a Leamington nightclub have helped police to arrest a man on suspicion of possessing drugs on Saturday night. The bouncers at Smack in Tavistock Street alerted police at about 12.40am following a suspicious incident at the club.

Officers arrested a 20-year-old from Kenilworth on suspicion of possession of a controlled Class A drug believed to be cocaine and possession of a controlled Class B drug believed to be cannabis.

Officers searched the suspect’s home address and seized a number of items.

Following questioning the man was released on police bail pending further enquiries.
