Bogus worker steals Southam pensioner’s debit card
The man police are searching for in connection with the theft of a Southam pensioner's debit card.
A PENSIONER’s debit card was stolen from her home in Southam after a man pretended to be there to repair her roof.
Police are appealing for help in identifying the man, who called in at the 90-year-old’s home in March.
He entered her property and said that he needed money to purchase the materials before he could start the repair work that he said was needed. He took the woman’s bank card, but did not return and the woman’s card was used in Southam to withdraw money. It was also used later the same day to purchase property at a store in Huntington, Cambridgeshire.
Police would like to identify the man, who, due to the location of the later purchases may come from Huntingdon area.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC Simon Osborne on 684170 or the non emergency police number 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 where the information can be given anonymously.
