BMX rider comes to help of Warwick attack victim

POLICE are hunting for two men behind an apparently random attack in Warwick last week.

The pair punched a man as he was walking along Coten End towards Leamington at around 1am on Sunday October 28.

The victim, who is in his 40s, was approaching the pedestrian crossing outside the Millwright Arms pub when he was approached by a man, who punched him in the face.

The attacker was then joined by another man who also punched the victim in the face.

The assault stopped when the two men were challenged by a man on a BMX, who told the two men to leave the victim alone.

The attackers then walked away towards St Johns.

Police are appealing for witnesses to help them identify the two men.

The first is described as a 5ft 5ins to 5ft 6ins tall, of medium build, white and aged 17 or 18, with short ginger coloured hair. He was wearing a blue hooded top.

The second was wearing a black hooded top with the hood up.

The victim suffered minor injuries.

Anyone who can help identify the offenders should contact Pc Chloe Jasper at the Leamington local investigation team on 684073 or can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
