Arrest made after glass attack in Warwick

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was struck with a broken glass near a pub in Warwick.

The incident took place near JD Wetherspoon, also known as Lloyds No.1 bar, in Market Street last night (Wednesday).

A 44-year-old man was taken to the University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire where he underwent surgery after sustaining a severe cut to his face.

Officers have arrested a 41-year-old male on suspicion of causing injury to the victim.

Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the vicinity of the pub yesterday JD Wetherspoon evening between 6.15pm and 6.45pm who saw the disturbance or who has any information about the incident.
