Tributes to Whitnash teenager killed in road collision

The family of a 'fun-loving' Whitnash teenager who died after being hit by a car on Old Warwick Road on Saturday have paid tribute to him.

15-year-old Kieran Long died in the early hours of Sunday morning following the collision on the main road outside Morrison’s supermarket.

A statement from his family said: “Kieran was a fun loving, outgoing boy with a passion for music.

“He had many friends and interests that he followed wholeheartedly.

“He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, and everybody whose lives he touched.”

Police officers were called to the road at 8.40pm after reports of a pedestrian being hit by black Audi S4 estate.

The teenager was rushed to Warwick Hospital with serious injuries.

He was later transferred to Birmingham Children’s Hospital where he died from his injuries in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The road was closed to traffic in both directions following the crash.

A police spokesperson said they were calling for anyone who could help with information to come forward.

Officers want to hear from anyone who witnessed it or saw the vehicle or Kieran in the areas before the collision happened.
