Southam people were invited to take a journey back in time on Saturday to look at the history of a First World War community building in their town.
Volunteers had put together displays and invited others to bring their own memories to give people an idea of how Craven Lane Hall has been used over the past century.
The volunteers are hoping to put together a bid for a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund to refurbish the hall, which at the moment has no central heating and is in a state of disrepair.
See this Friday’s Courier for a report with pictures on the day’s event. In the meantime, here is a video of heritage worker Jane Alexander showing Courier photographer Jass Lall around the hall and explaining the idea behind the memories day.
