Areas of the UK were hit by nearly 100mph winds and heavy rain as another storm battered towns on Saturday and Sunday.

And in Warwick, parts of St Nicholas Park and some town streets were left underwater following persistent rain - with groups sharing photographs of pathways and fields underwater.

The Met Office has issued amber warnings of wind for much of the south west yesterday, and a yellow warning stretching from southern Wales to the Thames Estuary as the storm sweeps in from the English Channel.

A Network Rail spokeswoman said inspections were ongoing although no damage or blockages on the network had been found.

Kenilworth’s ford was left impassable due to high water and there was also flooding to allotments in the town. Streets in Leamington saw water rising through Sunday evening.
