SLIDESHOW: Floods in Kenilworth after torrential rain
Abbey Fields and Odibourne Allotments near School Lane both saw flooding, and water levels at the ford were almost two and a half feet high, which caught some drivers out including the driver of a vehicle recovery truck.
The newly-installed warning signs indicating when the ford is in flood did not deter all drivers from trying to navigate the floodwater.

The innermost signs, which simply display ‘Ford Impassable’, activate even if there is only a small amount of water on the road.
Warwickshire County Council engineers said they set up the warning system to err on the side of caution.
