Spectators were given the chance to step back in time to the 17th century to watch the annual re-enactment of the Battle Of Edgehill at Kineton Sports and Social Club last weekend.
Living history society the Sealed Knot staged the event, along with weaponry and period skills workshops and demonstrations, over two days, while there was also the usual beer festival at the social club, where the ‘warriors’ camped for the weekend.
The Battle of Edgehill took place at Edgehill, near Kineton, in 1642, marking the start of the English Civil War.
Here is a slideshow depicting the battle re-enactment. See next Friday’s Courier for a report and picture spread on the event.
