Sean Deely, the chairman of Bishops Tachbrook Parish Council, is calling on the district council to update its calculations of housing need in the area.
Mr Deely says an update is not only long overdue but required by the Planning Policy Guidelines announced within the last week by planning minister Nick Boles.
Parish council members say Bishops Tachbrook has already accepted 280 new homes - with another 75 in the Neighbourhood Plan - which is more than any other village in Warwick district.
Mr Deely said: “This represents a 25 per cent increase in our housing stock - that has to be enough for any village community.”
Parish councillors met with the planning minister some weeks ago in a bid to show that district planning officers have their calculations wrong and that recent permissions granted for new homes, plus potential brownfield developments, will easily meet the needs of the whole district over the next five years.
