A lorry driver has died following a crash in Wellesbourne yesterday (Tuesday April 1).

Ambulance crews and an air ambulance were called to the scene on the A429 at around 3.25pm, where they saw that the lorry, a blue Renault Arctic that was travelling towards Wellesbourne, had come off the road, turned on to its side and crashed into a tree.

An ambulance spokesman said: “Unfortunately, it quickly became apparent that nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”
