Proposals to build up to 800 homes on land between Myton Road and Europa Way in Warwick is to be first considered by town councillors on Monday (Aug 19).
The application comes from the Europa Way Consortium, a body made up of the town’s charitable Oken Trust and Henry Vlll Trust which provide support for Warwick School and St Mary’s Church among other local good causes.
Many councillors who sit as trustees on one or other of the two charities will be unable to take an active part in discussions about the plans for homes, plus retail, sports and footpath provision, which come before any agreement is reached on the controversial revised Local Plan.
Objections based on over-development, traffic congestion and potential flooding have already been raised by some residents living in the area. Others think the application is premature and should be delayed until the revised Local Plan is agreed. Any recommendation must then go on to district councillors.
