The display was opened on Monday February 8 by the general manager of Holiday Inn Kenilworth, David Moscow, and will be on show in the library for a month.

On display are posters of the period, details of the losses at the Battle of the Somme by the Royal Warwickshire Regiment, and a poem written by one of the soldiers during the battle.

Francis Arnold, president of the Royal British Legion in Kenilworth, who organised the display, said: “The opening went very well. Several people came up to me and said the poem was very sad and poignant.”

The group is planning on holding similar exhibitions in 2017 and 2018.
