The safety of the junction between the entrance to Stoneleigh Park and the B4133 is now being improved by Warwickshire County Council with new signs, road markings and anti-skid coatings.

There have been eight separate crashes on the junction since 2010 according to official figures, and many more near-misses.

Colin Hooper, Stoneleigh Park estate director, was pleased the work was underway as he and tenants on the site have long called for action.

He said: “Vehicles using this stretch of road often travel at great speed and there have been a number of accidents and many more near misses at what has become a bit of a blackspot junction.

“More than a thousand people work on the park and many more visit for shows and events hosted here.

“Since LaSalle Investment Management took over management of the site we have lobbied for improvements to be made.

“Following a lengthy consultation with Warwickshire County Council and a safety review of this stretch of road, I’m delighted and grateful that the required work is underway.

“We are assured the alterations will make this junction safer for the many people who enter and leave the park each week.”

Stoneleigh Park is home to more than 85 businesses employing around 1250 people and is used for a variety of events and shows throughout the year.
