Festival organisers are appreciated

In reply to the correspondent who chose to not to give a name (Postbag last week), I would like to say that I do appreciate very much all the work of the Peace Festival organisers.

With regard to the condition of the site, it was very bad luck that the first day should coincide with one of the wettest days of a very wet summer.

It is ridiculous to say that the height of the new arches should have allowed for large vehicles. The original arches were there long before a Peace Festival began and the new arches are made to the same design but in a more durable material.

I have visited the Peace Festival every year since it first began, and for many years helped on various stands. I was a friend of the Watsons, who began the first festival and it is lovely to think that it still provides a venue for many good causes and entertainment for young and old. - Margaret Watkins, Regency House, Newbold Terrace, Leamington.
