Learn woodcraft skills at Leamington wood

Adults and children can learn how to make their own wooden flowers out of hazel or willow at a woodcraft workshops at Foundry Wood in Leamington on Sunday (June 29).

Sue Swatridge from Against the Grain will show partipants how to use a shave horse - a bench on which to sit to shape bits of wood - and basic tools to craft the wooden creations.

The outdoor workshop - organised by the Friends of Foundry Wood and Action 21 - runs on a drop-in basis at the community woodland off Prince’s Drive from 10am to 4pm and is suitable for anyone aged six or older. There is £3 charge per flower.

People are advised to bring warm and waterproof clothing, sturdy footwear and sun protection. To register a place, email [email protected] or [email protected]
