The Kenilworth School Young Sports Leaders Team is off to the World Schools Education Games in Athens in April after Kenilworth Lions gave them a grant of £1,000.

The team of four boys and four girls was selected last November to represent England at the Games, which run from Saturday April 23 to Thursday April 28. The event will coincide with the handover of the Olympic flame from London 2012 to Rio 2016.

Lions president Paddy Murphy said: “Kenilworth can be justly proud of its young people being chosen to represent England at this unique event.

“The Lions are delighted to have been able to help the school and parents raise the funds necessary.”
