The 16 members of staff at Chinasearch - which sells china and pottery items that are no longer in production to match up to people’s existing sets - are once again taking part in Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday September 26.

Lucy Elliott of the team said: “It’s a bit of a tradition at Chinasearch - I’ve been involved for the three years that I’ve been here but I know staff have been doing it for longer.

Cancer has touched so many people that everybody here has experienced it in some way.

“We wanted to do something that will help others going through it because Macmillan does such excellent work that sometimes gets overlooked, for example helping people obtain the benefits they are entitled to or making sure that they can make ends meet while going through something so traumatic.”

And of course all the tea and coffee served up to people during Chinasearch’s coffee morning will be served in china cups and saucers, while the cakes and bakes for sale will be homemade by staff.

Visitors will also be able to go on tours of the shop, which is re-launching in September.

Staff are hoping to add to their fundraising by selling more cakes for Macmillan at their stand at the Party in the Park at Kenilworth Festival, which takes place in Abbey Fields on September 14.

The coffee morning itself takes place at Chinaseach in Princes Drive Industrial Estate, Coventry Road, Kenilworth, on September 26, 10am to noon. This is the official date of Macmillan’s coffee morning campaign, but people can hold their fundraising event on any date. To register, call 0845 602 1246 or visit www.macmillan.org.uk/coffee
