LEAMINGTON manager Paul Holleran has set the record straight over speculation popular midfielder James Husband had decided to leave the club.

Other clubs had expressed an interest in the winger, who has made 259 appearances for Brakes but Holleran has stressed the importance of the player and said Husband is happy to stay.

“I had a meeting with Jimmy at the weekend, and made him fully aware of how important he is to us on and off the pitch,” Holleran said.

“He’s been a great lad since I came to the football club and is the sort of person I like around me.

“He confirmed to me on Monday that he wanted to stay at the club and have a good go at next season.”

Holleran has also confirmed that David Kolodynski had informed him by text message that he would not be returning next season.

The striker, who had criticised the windy conditions at the New Windmill, has since signed for Bedworth United.

Holleran has added Dean Perow and Lewis Powell to the squad but is hopeful of bringing in two more strikers

Another who seems to have played his last game for Leamington is midfielder Neil Barnfield.

Barnfield had advised Holleran last week that he was considering his future due to work commitments but Halesowen Town have since announced the player has signed for them and the Brakes manager has not heard from him since then.
