Horse freed from trailer in Lapworth rescue

Crews were called to Rising Lane at around 11.30am on January 9 to reports of the animal being in distress.

The horse was found to be trapped in a partition of the horse transporter and unable to free itself.

Crews from Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service in an engine from Henley in Arden were joined by the Large Animal Rescue Crew from Rugby to free the horse which was sedated by a vet during the rescue.

It was released after around on hour and is said to be safe and well. Crews were on scene for one hour.
