Leamington is officially a Fairtrade town with its own Fairtrade steering group and directory of services available that have been recognised by the mark, which ensures that producers of items such as bananas, chocolate, coffee and cotton are paid a fair wage.

Tomorrow (Friday), the group and town mayor Cllr Judith Clarke will launch Warwick district’s Fairtrade bus tour outside Leamington town hall at 10am, while on Sunday (March 2), there will be Fairtrade display stands and competitions - as well as free bananas - at the Royal Priors from 9am to 4pm.
