Fairytale carriage will lead Leamington Lantern Parade

Have your say

A giant-sized fairytale carriage which will lead this year’s Christmas lantern parade in Leamington - and you could be the person who designs it.

The Royal Spa Centre, Warwick District Council, and Bid Leamington have teamed up and secured the funding to run a competition to create the showpiece.

The parade, which has become a favourite annual event in the town, will take place on December 11.

The designs must be drawn on a special colouring sheet, which can be downloaded from the spa centre’s website or picked up from the town hall on the Parade. And the winner will have the opportunity to bring their design to life at the lantern making workshops, which take place before the event, and lead the parade this year.

Deadline for entries is 5pm on October 24. Send in your completed design sheet to Leamington Town Hall, Parade, CV32 4EA.

The winner will need to be available on December 11 to parade their lantern through the town centre.

Four runners-up will
receive family tickets to this year’s panto and all children will have their designs displayed in the spa centre foyers during the pantomime period.
