Elderly woman stands up to masked burglars and orders them out of her house

A brave elderly woman confronted two masked men in her home - and they quickly left after she ordered them to get out.

But after the burglars had left, the woman realised they had stolen £140.

Police have today (Friday) released the information about the incident, which happened at about 7pm on Tuesday February 7 in Bishops Itchington.

A police spokesperson said: “The resident, a woman in her late 70s, confronted the men and told them to leave.

“They did so and the woman saw that about £140 had been stolen. She was not injured.”

Both men were wearing black balaclavas. One was about 5ft 10ins to 6ft tall, slim and was wearing a black jacket. The other one was slim and about 5ft 3ins tall wearing a dark coloured jacket.
