Warwick Bookseller calls for level playing fields

WARWICK Books owner Keith Smith has been amazed to collect 7,000 names in a week after launching an online
petition aimed at persuading multi-national company Amazon to pay some of its taxes in the UK.

Mr Smith, who organised the petition in conjunction with his wife Frances, who runs Kenilworth Books, said: “We have nothing whatsoever against Amazon but we could all offer discounts to customers if we didn’t have to pay so much tax.”

Multi-national Amazon is registered in Luxembourg.
