Change of use for Warwick business wins support

TOWN councillors Mandy Littlejohn and Gerry Guest have trying to help a Warwick businesswoman to negotiate with planning officers about the notice she has received to quit her business in the town centre.

Samantha Hinton, who four years ago expanded her successful information technology company into one half of her step-father’s bookshop in Smith Street, has been told she must re-locate by the end of March because the street’s designated priority is for retail use.

But Cllr Guest, who also sits on the district council, said: “Some of the rules and regulations do not help town’s like Warwick to keep going.”

Cllr Littlejohn has promised to help Ms Hinton complete a change-of-use application form, even though she was advised that this may not be officially recommended to councillors for approval.
