A team of budding engineers from Balsall Common Primary School has won The F1 in Schools Midlands Regional Final.

The team of nine-year-olds had to design and build a car from cardboard which was powered by compressed air.

Their design, called ‘Lightning Strike’, powered down a 100ft track at Princethorpe College in under two seconds.

The team now go on to the national finals in July to be held in Richmond.
