Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was punched in the face following a road rage attack in Leamington.

A 64-year-old man was driving on Cubbington Road on Tuesday morning when he was assaulted by another driver.

The man was approaching the Lillington Road junction at around 7.30am when a grey hatchback car swerved in front of his car, and he had to stop in the road.

The driver of the hatchback then got out of his vehicle and the pair began to argue.

The victim was then punched in the face and stomach before his car key was grabbed from his car’s ignition and snapped by the other man.

The suspect, who is described as white, of large build and in his 50s with dark hair, threatened the victim before driving off in the direction of Tesco Express.

When the victim returned to his car, he found a note on his windscreen with the registration plate of the suspect’s car.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the assault, the person who left the note, or who may have seen the driver of a grey hatchback at the time, to come forward.
