GYPSY families living on green belt land in Beausale will have to move on after their application for permanent pitches was rejected.
Following a majority of 7-2 voting to reject the application at the meeting of the Warwick District Council planning committee on Wednesday night, it was then decided to support planning officer Martin Haslett's recommendation to enforce a 12-month compliance period.

More than 400 objections had been lodged, as well as a petition with 333 signatures, against the application for 13 permanent pitches for mobile homes, 13 touring caravans for nomadic use only, and 13 utility day rooms, on the site which the travellers were already occupying.

This means the Gypsies will have 12 months in which to leave the land and for it to be restored to its original state.
