They may be smaller than a penny but these scissors sold for £149 at a Warwick auction.
Two pairs of minute 19th century scissors were sold by Bleasdales in Warwick on Wednesday.

The specialist sewing sale took place at the Lord Leycester Hospital and raised around £90,000.

Auctioneer and valuer Robert Bleasdales said: "These working steel scissors would probably have been made by a cutler, not as an apprentice piece but to show their experience and skill and then sold for use in a dolls house.

"I have often seen miniature cutlery and penknives made for the same reasons but I've rarely seen working pairs of scissors which are as small as this. When they were made in the 19th century they certainly would have been world record breakers."
