Health conscious pupils at a Warwick school tucked into a fruit feast on Friday - and have started preparing for a marathon challenge.
Children at Coten End Primary School marked cancer prevention week with a 'fruity Friday' event, part of a county-wide effort to improve nutrition.

Warwickshire County Council's catering service have begun serving a starter of fresh fruit and vegetables including crudités, fruit salad, jelly with fruit punch and strawberry milkshake.

Coun Izzi Seccombe (Con, Stour and the Vale) is responsible for the Children, Young People and Families department. She said: "Fruity Friday is an excellent way to promote the importance of eating a healthy, balanced diet, with the added benefit of offering support to a valuable cause. Children who eat better, do better."

Youngsters at Coten End are also preparing for a 'cheeky monkey's marathon challenge' on June 12, which will raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital and school funds. Children will have one hour to walk or run either 13 or 26 laps of the field as part of the school's health and fitness week.
