King's High School in Warwick has turned back the clock with a reunion and celebration of school life during the 1970s.
Some 110 'old girls' and staff who attended the school during the 1970s returned for the first ever 'decade day'.

The old friends and colleagues had a tour of the premises before looking at archive displays from the 1970s and a 1970s-themed lunch.

Former pupil Mary Alexander, who was at King's from 1963 to 1970 and now lives in Surrey, said: "The school is very much in my blood as my sister, mother, aunt, great-aunt, father and uncle all went there, as did my cousin and four sisters-in-law.

"It was so nice to see my old friends again.

"They all looked the same, and we laughed non-stop."

Headteacher Elizabeth Surber added: "We were absolutely delighted with the response to our first ever event of this kind. We welcomed visitors from as far afield as Australia, France and Germany as well as from across the UK."

* King's High School will be holding a 1980s Decade Day during 2009.

* If you are planning a reunion, let us know on 457737.
