Rain fell for the third year in a row at Claverdon School's fun run on Saturday.
But the cloudy skies could not cast a shadow over the enthusiasm of those taking part, nor the amount raised.

Pupils, their families and friends raised almost £3,000 for the school in the Olympic-themed sponsored run and at the school’s spring fair.

The school’s PTA chairman Julie Fenwick said: “We thought it couldn’t rain for three years in a row, but it did. But being British we all got on with it.”

Entertainment after the run included displays of traditional and disco dancing, a penalty shoot-out and karate demonstrations.

All proceeds will go towards buying new computer equipment for the primary school.

She added: “The children were brilliant. They really enjoyed it. My son got into bed and said it was one of his best days ever.”
