Life in Nelson's Navy, power politics at the close of the Second World War and the story of the English language will be among the subjects at a Warwick book festival.
Market Place bookshop Warwick Books will be holding its own history festival from September 17 to 20.

Diplomat and historian David Stafford will give a talk about his book Endgame 1945 at Woodside Methodist church in Coventry on September 17 at 7.30pm.

Warwick resident professor Eric Ives will be speaking about Lady Jane Grey, his latest work, at Warwick Library on September 18 at 7pm. The following evening, linguist David Crystal will discuss By Hook or By Crook, a Journey in Search of English at Warwick Library at 7pm.

Archaeologists Roy and Leslie Adkins will be launching their book Jack Tar at Warwick Library on September 20, also at 7pm. Tickets for each event cost £2 and are available at Warwick Books and Warwick library.
