Futuristic technology and period costume helped children at a Warwick school learn about history.
Pupils at Emscote Infant School walked through a model Tardis to help them prepare for the shock of going to school Victorian-style.

As part of a themed week the children had begun each day with a breakfast of porridge, took part in Victorian PE drills and learned how laundry was washed in the 19th century. On one day they took part in a costume re-enactment at St John’s House Museum.

Deputy headteacher Queralt said: “Dressing up and acting in role helps them to bring the scene to life. It is a brilliant way to teach things like writing and history but in a practical way.”

Mrs Madagan added: “The Tardis really fired their imagination. It makes history come to life.”
