Angry tenants have been left in the cold by a national housing developer.
Chris Gerwitz and his girlfriend Nicola Braso moved into the their Bryant Homes apartment in Chase Meadow, Warwick, just two months after they were built - and have had nothing but trouble since.

For 12 months the couple have been living with a "draught" coming through their bedroom window because of poor workmanship, according to Mr Gerwitz who spoke to the Courier this week.

He said: "We are moving out now because this has just dragged on and on - it's a joke.
"The work was shabby to say the least; it was a brand new flat and it was almost like they had forced the window into a gap which was too small for it.

"After about 11 months they sent their 'best men' out to fix it and they only succeeded in making it worse.

"There was a snagging list but they never came round to fix it, although our bath was installed incorrectly and they did manage to come round and sort that out after a couple of weeks."

The couple have taken numerous days off work waiting for builders to come round, and have lost count of the extra money they have spent on heating.

Contractors have turned up unannounced to fix the problem and others have turned up misinformed.

Mr Gerwitz added: "Different contractors would come round, some would say they could do the job on the window without scaffolding then the people they booked would come round and say they couldn't do it without scaffolding.

"One guy turned up and didn't even know which window it was."

Two official letters of complaint have been sent to Taylor Woodrow - parent company of Bryant Homes - but no acknowledgement has been given.

Phone calls and emails have also been sent to the company by Kenilworth estate agent's Boothroyd's and Co who let the property.

Mr Gerwitz said have they been excellent throughout who said to Boothroyd's would have sent out their own contractors to solve the problem had Taylor Woodrow not insisted on using their own.

But after living with the draught for 12 months, whoever is responsible has failed to sort it out.

Taylor Woodrow spokeswoman Louise Ellis said: "We are not responsible for tenants and do not manage properties, we sell them.

"If snagging problems are to be solved we do it with the owners of the property otherwise it is the estate agents responsibility."

Nobody from Boothroyd and Co was available for comment yesterday (Thursday).
