Former RAF squadron leader Roy West is being "victimised" by waste collectors, his daughter has said.
Mr West, 88, of Woodcote Road, Warwick, has an assisted collection because of his old age and problems with his short term memory.

But following months of problems with his red recycling bins - about which his daughter Laraynne Kyffin has complain
ed regularly to Warwick District Council - his grey household waste bin is now overflowing from not being emptied for several weeks.

Mrs Kyffin said: "I don't want silly little bureaucrats making my father's life a misery.

"It has been going on for weeks and weeks and it feels like retaliation to my complaints.

"It seems like victimisation - what other conclusion can you come to?"

Mr Kyffin said in one instance she watched a collector sift through her father's red box to take out items that could be recycled but not dispose of the other items in his rubbish bin.

She has accused the council of not caring and said she was glad that where she lives her rubbish is collected by Stratford District Council.

Mrs Kyffin added: "They have a pathetic attitude to rubbish collection while in Stratford district there are no problems at all.

"What is wrong with them? They don't even seem to know how bad they are.

"Why are taxpayers expected to do the job of the council?

"The system is not fairly serving the elderly and infirm."

Mrs Kyffin approached the district council about the latest problem on Tuesday and Mr West's grey bin was emptied on Wednesday morning.

Council spokeswoman Rachel Carpenter said it has apologised for the "inconvenience and stress" caused to both Mr West and his daughter.

She added: "We are currently arranging to meet Mrs Kyffin to resolve any concerns of recycling and refuse to prevent any further problems occurring."
