Staff at Brian Holt’s Leamington office hit on an enterprising way of raising money to help fight breast cancer on national Wear it Pink Day.

Manager Jane Canning scoured the town’s charity chops for pink items including hats, scarves, gloves, dog toys, compact mirrors and even a pink broom before trawling the streets and accosting shop staff and passers by to sell them and raise around £170 for the Breast Cancer Campaign.

She said: “I spent the afternoon peddling my wares round town, visiting local shops, fellow agents and any unsuspecting public who looked my way to help fill up our Wear it Pink charity box.

“Considering the economy, I’m pleased to say that the box was filled. It will amount to more than £170.”

The team, attired in pink, also dished out pink cakes and pink fizz in exchange for donations at their offices.

Sister branches in Kenilworth, Earlsdon and Coventry also hosted pink cakes and fizz events to raise more than £400 between them to add to the £22 million nationwide raised in the ten years Wear it Pink Day has been running.
